Set in 1950's Paris, Souvenirs d'Amour is the story of two singers. A black American jazz singer (Mercedes Nicole) fueled by the promise of racial acceptance and musical stardom moves to Paris to sing in the "smokey caves" and clubs of the boulevard St-Germain-des-Prés.

The other is Paris' most popular singer (Fathia Atallah) A decade of success singing the French cabaret songs of love and loss have made her a star. Yet, as the Parisian's insatiable desire for American jazz grows, the cabaret diva begins to see the young American as a threat.
